LEAR -SEQUENCING SUPERVISOR

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX - GRAND PRAIRIE PLANT

 

As a member of the production team, the sequencing supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities of the production function on the plant floor, communicating and responding to employee concerns and requirements and assisting the Production Manager in all plant production activities. This position reports to the superintendent and or plant manager.

 

The Role:

As Sequencing Supervisor, your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Directs and coordinates, through supervisory of hourly personnel, daily activities of kitting and sequencing operation on night shift and works other shifts as required
  • Reviews customer pick lists to ascertain product data, such as types, quantities, and scheduled delivery to plan department operations
  • Coordinates operations and data with the other shift supervisors
  • Makes sure forklifts and equipment are operational to ensure specific required performance and optimize utilization
  • Develops or revises standard work instructions and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
  • Works with Plant Manager and Senior Supervisor to initiate personnel actions, such as transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures
  • Works with Union representatives to resolve worker grievances and submits new or unsettled grievances to Senior Supervisor and Plant Manager
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data, using computer or from hard copies
  • Assists Plant Manager and supervisor in matters related to safety and quality
  • Coordinates kitting and sequencing operations with the customer
  • Works to promote the Quality Policy and QMS
  • Coordinates contract personnel issues with outside agency

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the use of Risk Management and Task Force Teams (TFT) to address design, function, fit, and appearance of all equipment and parts.
  • Knowledge of terminology pertaining to quality assurance as needed to respond to questions and provide oversight.
  • Knowledge of various functions of an automotive plant such as maintenance, quality, production control, operations, and materials as needed to determine how they are interrelated and oversee employees in the quality department
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Skill in word processing and/or data entry equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, supervisors and co- workers at all levels
  • Able to walk and or stand for extended periods of time
