IT SPECIALIST - 2nd SHIFT
GRAND RAPIDS, MI
As a member of the IT team, IT Specialist will be responsible providing direct technical support to others using computer equipment for office applications, including desktop configurations, performing hardware and software installation and maintenance of existing database software, spreadsheets, and other programs to best meet end user need. Incumbents in this classification will use a hands-on approach to install and configure equipment and software, perform maintenance on the equipment, and troubleshoot problems to resolve hardware/software issues. They will also provide Project Management support for plant projects and life cycle refreshes.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Serves as the System Administrator
- Administer manufacturing unit’s network structure with Windows server, SQL and Deployment Severs capabilities.
- Support by completing Ivanti requests, production calls for assistances, and provide white gloved service for escalated request.
- Run and install Ethernet in house cabling and network device structures as needed in emergency situations.
- Assist with KPI Monitoring, resolution, and escalation
- Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
- Work with customer’s broadcast monitoring, and troubleshoot Server/PC hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for Lear.
- Maintain routine SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance) requirement forms and procedures.
- Assist in LRP and Budget Planning as well as checkbook monitoring.
- Log daily shift requests and document new procedures.
- Monitor daily backups.
- Provide off hours support.
- Verify and maintain all Antivirus and utility patches are in place.
- Assist in managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problem
- Consults with vendor or corporate representatives to define equipment or service needs
- Monitors IT operations and complaints to identify and evaluate the effectiveness of operations and identifies problems that need to be addressed.
- Work with Active Directory, user accounts, groups, and privileges, maintain events and logs.
- Assist with Shopfloor Application Changes (LearPICS, LPS, LFG, etc.)
- Equipment configuration - PCs, Printers, Scanners, Thin Clients
- Provide technical support to production, quality, maintenance, shipping, and other departments as needed in a 24/7 environment
- Keep abreast of the latest technologies.
- Assist with shift coverage as needed.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Your Qualifications:
- Two-year college degree in Information System or four years previous experience in IT field
- Hardware and Network Troubleshooting Skills
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- One-year automotive industry experience desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or in a collaborative environment
- Must be able to adapt to a demanding environment and to multi-task
Bonus If You Demonstrate the Following:
- Ability to function as local Project Manager for major projects (Life Cycle, Launches, Enhancements)
