QUALITY ENGINEER
PINE GROVE, PA

 

As a member of the quality team the Quality Engineer plans and directs activities concerned with validation, development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products: Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation, and utilizing knowledge in the quality field.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Works with Engineering to develop protocols and reports for validation work.
  • Coordinates all validation activities by constant communications with affected departments and personnel.
  • Participate and execute internal audits  and suppliers audits
  • Host Notified Body audits
  • Participate in APQP product development process including FMEA's, PPAP presentations and calibration.
  • Develop Corrective Action (CAPA) and Customer Complaints investigations.
  • Lead and work with production areas to implement supply chain based improvements to current products and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide leadership, training /coaching and technical support to all members of QA staff especially in the areas of continuous improvement.
  • Establish, develop, implement and sustain SPC across the company, based on this implementation, coach /train others to drive data based decision-making.
  • Review and approve document changes DCRs(Procedures, WI, BOMs)
  • Verify Regulatory compliance requirement with the suppliers (MDRs)
  • Assure proper quality samplings on lots
  • Partner with manufacturing engineering to lead process improvement efforts, Six Sigma and lean initiatives across the company.
  •  Initiate and maintain appropriate corrective and preventive action per defined procedures.
  • Travel as required to support assigned projects or other application work requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

 

Your Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Manufacturing, Quality or Industrial) or equivalent.
  •  3+ years of experience in a Quality / Manufacturing Engineering role.
  • Knowledge, understanding and implementation experience with medical device quality systems, quality sampling, manufacturing operations, supplier quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with Test Method Validation (Measurement Systems Analysis, Gage R&R, correlation and uncertainties)
  • Have a fundamental understanding of ISO 9001 / 13485  / FDA 21 CFR 820 based quality systems background
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate level computer skills, Word, Excel

 

Bonus If You Have:

  •  Experience with soft goods, textiles.
  • Experience with class I, II or III medical devices.
  • Six sigma green / black belt.
  • American Society for Quality Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Quality Auditor.
  • Advanced level computer skills.
  • Manufacturing or Industrial engineering background.
  • Bi-lingual – Spanish
