Role overview:

Working as a key member of the Quality function, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring total customer satisfaction by dealing with both internal, external & warranty concerns promptly, identifying root cause and instigating permanent corrective actions for both day to day and new model launch activities where appropriate

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with the customer, suppliers, manufacturing and the programme team on quality issues.
  • Product and process support for all internal processes.
  • Ensuring conformance to Lear and external, ie IATF, standards and verification via layered audits
  • Implementation and follow-up of containment activities.
  • Problem resolution (Internal and External inc warranty).  Inc. Responsible for Corrective and Preventative actions (Customer and Internal).
  • New product introduction support following GPDS timing where appropriate
  • Global 8D via LQTS and PPS report writing.
  • Supplier development on customer impacted concerns.
  • PFMEA development support.
  •  Control Plan Creation and audits
  • To ensure that all Quality, Environmental, and Health and Safety legislation are adhered to.
  • To ensure all departmental procedures are adhered to.
  • Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department and record all improvements.
  • Providing feedback to the Quality Manager via weekly reporting structure
  • Management & development of team and promote cross functional learning
  • LPA and Quality systems auditing support (incl. closure of applicable NCs)
  • IPPM  and DPPM data ownership

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree /  HND equivalent qualification
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • IATF 16949 System knowledge.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • 8D and PPS report writing.
  • PPAP experience
  • Experience in JIT and/or Lean Manufacturing environment
  • The ability to work with multiple programs and deadlines
  • Influencing and Analytical skills
