Role overview:

The purpose of this role is to manage all manufacturing team members for the work area to ensure seamless running of the plant, by setting direction and manage all Group and Zone leaders, ensuring all KPI’s are set and met, and driving adherence of best in class standards in Health & Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Production, Logistics and continuous improvement.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Group Leaders, Zone Leaders and Manufacturing Team Members for a set work area to produce a best in class product
  • Ensure that the correct manning is achieved by area in line with business requirements
  • Drive the team to achieve all KPI’s set out by the business. IPPM, DPPM, Downtime, Scrap, Quality, Performance
  • Lead manufacturing boardwalks and take ownership of the QOS data and all IRB related reporting
  • Manage the product improvements aspects of the work area
  • Attend all DSR meetings and take the lead for all one pagers relating to safety accidents/incidents in the work area
  • Attend all DQR meetings and ensure that all quality issues are escalated and all one pagers are supported by the team
  • Promote positive employee engagement in the team and support TIC, Kaizen and TWW initiatives
  • Support the LPA audit schedules

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Management or Supervision field.
  • Experience in a similar role within the automotive industry will be a plus.
  • Experience of a JIT environment or complex manufacturing assembly processes is desired
  • Availability to work rotatory shifts
  • Experience in a Supervisory role
  • Management, leadership and people development experience
  • Experience of direct customer contact.
  • Experience of Lean tools and applications.
  • Strong computer literacy.
