SELMA, AL (Plant)


As a member of the Materials team, the Materials Supervisor will be responsible for directing and controlling material flow for the plant.  The Materials Supervisor supervises the activities of all hourly material handlers engaged in the movement of raw or finished materials. The Materials Supervisor is responsible for production scheduling and inventory control activities.  They will Control, measure, and regulate efficient inventory levels of materials and finished goods. The Materials Supervisor will coordinate the plant scheduling of production.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Utilize the SAP system to review and ensure the availability of components in coordination with corporate materials and the production plan.
  • Supervise material handlers to ensure work instructions and procedures are followed.
  • Conduct/participate in monthly physical inventories.
  • Supervise Production Scheduling, Warehouse Supervisor, Shipping clerks, and Baxter Clerks.
  • Responsible for subordinate safety compliance and training; functions as role model relative to safety and environmental issues.
  • Provide for the proper handling of obsolescence claims to corporate materials.
  • Verify the perpetual inventory vs. physical inventory for the plant.
  • Full participation in quality system compliance/ audit with emphasis on elements 4.7, 4.8, and 4.15.
  • Conduct daily/weekly cycle counts.
  • Ensure that all department manning requirements are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Establish continuous improvement efforts to ensure 100% delivery Performance for external and internal customers.
  • Ensure product is shipped properly and timely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • MRP (Material Requirements Planning
    • Quality Management System Overview  
    • Lock Out/Tag Out Affected/Authorized as appropriate
    • Right-to-Know/hazardous communication
    • TDI Hazards
  • Computer skills (Excel and Word)


Bonus If You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Materials/Logistics
