LPS3 DEPLOYMENT SPECIALIST
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – LEAR WORLD HEADQUARTERS

 

As a member of the LPS (Lear Production System) Structures team, the LPS3 Deployment Specialist will be responsible for Implementing, deploying, and supporting the LPS Suite of applications.  The LPS Suite is a Lear proprietary global MES system comprised of several separate applications that communicate with devices or machines on the plant floor during the manufacturing process.  All the combined LPS apps ensure that production results and safety critical data are captured and recorded to Lear Data Centers or the cloud.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborate with Plant IE or Corporate AME teams to perform analysis of the build process and production requirements and convert into a technical specification for the setup and configuration of LPS3.
  • Develop installation plans for the implementation of LPS3 with Plant teams.
  • Provide project planning, reporting, and deployment of future LPS3 implementations assigned to you.
  • Develop and execute test configurations of LPS3 prior to installation.
  • Identify necessary enhancements of the system and submit change requests to LPS3 development teams.
  • Train the Plant teams in the operation of LPS3 and capability to perform future configuration changes.
  • Provide first level support to existing installations throughout the region - providing helpdesk support and problem resolution.
  • Perform technical analysis of identified problems and work closely with the Plant to resolve.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of Plant and Corporate personnel.
  • Utilize a Self-motivated work ethic to finish tasks.
  • Build effective relationships with other members of the LPS3 team and provide knowledge, support, and expertise.
  • Travel when necessary up to 50%

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Basic Project Management experience required.
  • Experience configuring Windows server environments and thin client hardware.
  • Experience with SQL server, SQL queries, triggers, and stored procedures.
  • Experience with OPC protocol communications to PLC’s. Knowledge of PLC functionality and capabilities. RSLogix/Siemens programming experience and the ability to understand multiple forms of logic (ladder, standard text, etc.) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of physical networking infrastructure and IP communications. Experience with Network diagnostic tools. Wireless networks experience a plus.
  • Logical troubleshooting skills, ability to quickly determine the source of a problem and implement a fix.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • MCSE or equivalent experience with ability to configure windows servers
  • Some experience working in the Automotive IT Environment
  • Knowledge of PLC functionality and capabilities
  • PC to PLC interfacing a plus
  • Experience with support and deployment of other MES systems
