PLATFORM MANAGER

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – WORLD HEADQUARTERS

Position Summary:  

Reporting to the Global Operations Director, the Platform Manager will be responsible to lead and direct cross functional launch team to ensure timely completion of all APQP deliverables; resulting in a successful product launch that meets product, customer and business goals.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain working relationships with the OEM, Tier 1 and Lear Manufacturing Facilities
Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. (Voice of the Customer)
Close communication with the Engineering group to ensure information is translated to support the quotation process and launch requirements are being met.
Evaluate and approve costs that are obtained within the corporation’s due process. This includes communication and timely closure of the Internal RFQ’s and External Quotes to the customer relative to the launch.
Monitor program activities for compliance with company philosophies, strategies, procedures, conformity to contract scope; follow scope change, notification and approval.
Manages Program through LearPro and SEMS
Updates and Maintains Advanced Program Review (APR)
Creates Communication Plan
Develops Cross Functional Team
Creates Customer Review Plan
Utilizes Lessons Learned
Conducts Make Verses Buy Analysis
Conducts Management Gateway Reviews (MGR) within each LPMP phase
Develop Program Plan
Develop Roadmap Investment
Manage Build requirements and support plan
Conduct reviews
Develop Feasibility Commitment
Obtain PFA approval (if necessary)
Conduct internal Launch meetings 
Conduct Service Review
Maintain and manage open issues deck.
Responsible for maintaining Program Budget and launching within Budget
Timely Decision Making
Manage Risk
Guarantee Customer Satisfaction
Address Quality Concerns
Manage Launch timing
Visit Lear plants as necessary
Create and maintain open lines of communications
Perform other duties as required that supports the corporation’s well being.
