PRODUCT DESIGNER, THERMAL COMFORT SOLUTIONS
SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – LEAR EAST CAMPUS/WORLD HEADQUARTERS

 

As a member of the Seat Comfort Engineering team, the Product Designer will be responsible for:

 

The Role:

  • Performing product packaging studies and developing solutions for new and existing applications
  • Implementing design changes on current products with engineering guidance
  • Performing kinematic studies
  • Creating 3D models and 2D drawings including part tolerancing and applying GD&T
  • Performing stack-ups of detail components
  • Designing plastic and metallic components

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline preferred but will consider AS degree with related work experience in product design environment
  • 7+ years product designer experience
  • Proficient in Catia V5 and Unigraphics NX
  • Proficient verbal and written communications skills
  • An ability to collaborate well in a team environment

 

 

Bonus If You Have:

  • Automotive seating experience
  • CAE (FEA, mold flow) experience
  • Customer Team Center training/knowledge
