CMM Operator - 1st Shift

As a member of the Quality team, the CMM Operator will be responsible for working in a highly visible position with multi department (Engineering & fixture manufacturing) interaction and coordination. The individual must be able to stay task oriented and have good time management skills as they will be mainly working alone.  

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  •  Read and interpret Blueprints.  Good understanding of GD&T
  •  Will operate a CMM and PC DMIS. Our machine is a new Hexagon Global S Green 9.15.8 CMM with the laser scanning system.
  • Generate Dimensional reports (DIS Inspect & Excel formats)
  • Perform dimensional layouts for PPAP and Annual Validation.
  • Properly identify master parts and maintain the master part storage area.
  • Perform dimensional layouts on part fixtures and various equipment for Calibration.
  • Direct interface with customer as required.
  • Direct interface with fixture suppliers as required.
  • trouble shoot correlation between part and measurement results
  • Provide measurements and analyze results from SPC (capability) studies (CPK, PPK).
  • Participate and perform MSA (Gage R&R) studies (interpret).
  • Be familiar with handheld measurement equipment and use Micro-Vu.
  • Assist with PPAP submissions
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experiance 
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints. Good understanding of GD&T
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

 

Bonus If You Have:

  • Associate degree in metrology, engineering, or related field 
  • Manufacturing experience
