Operations Manager

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">TITLE: Operations Manager

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">NATURE OF WORK: This is highly skilled professional and is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating the day-to-day activities for the operations of a progressive stamping and injection molding manufacturing facility.

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Job Description

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Directs, manages, and monitors the overall plant operations with general responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities of the stamping and injection mold operation.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ensures facility and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Determines the risks associated with production and develops contingencies based on the needs of the customer.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Allocates workload if necessary to ensure all teams are fully staffed and able to complete work goals.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Sets long term goals and objectives for the facility to keep anticipate and plan for future endeavors.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Attains production goals and efficiencies while controlling and reducing costs with full plant responsibility.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Directs production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Develop plans for the efficient use of materials, machines, and human resources.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Researches best industry practices in all areas of the operation and modifies and implements them into the facility.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Defines projects, schedules, and strategies to impact production cost, quality, and performance.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Calculates labor and equipment requirements and production specifications
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Confers with various departments to resolve problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Determines methodology and strategies used to foster a well-trained and motivated staff that includes both hourly and salary.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Schedules and conducts plant meetings to keep employees abreast of the outlook of the plant and discuss long range goals.

 

 

 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Job Requirements

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Experience working in an Injection Molding and Stamping Operation is preferred.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Knowledge of manufacturing principles in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Knowledge of the various functions of an automotive plant such as maintenance, quality, production control, safety, quality, operations, and materials as needed to oversee and direct employees in these functions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Knowledge of computers to include software, hardware, and databases as needed
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ability to create results, build teams, foster trust, and handle resistance to change.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ability to analyze problems to include asking the appropriate questions and gathering additional information in order to identify causes of and solutions to problems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ability to recognize relationships between facts, information, or situations as needed to integrate information from various sources.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ability to evaluate alternatives and anticipate consequences of various courses of actions as needed to adapt/plan accordingly.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ability to recognize trends or patterns.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Ability to provide sound rationale/explanations for decisions and/or actions.

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Must be able to work extended hours including weekends and alternate shifts.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Must be willing to be on call 24 hours a day.

 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">BS Degree in Business administration or any related field or 10 years experience in progressively higher management roles in an automotive manufacturing plant.
