European Commodity Buyer

Position Overview:

 

The European Commodity Buyer is in charge of all Purchasing related activities for the Commodity which is linked to all existing and future seating projects in Europe.

This position requires a strong interface with our Business Units and manufacturing plants located all across Europe (in Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, South Africa and Russia).

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in line with annual purchasing saving targets for Commodity.
  • Define and implement European supplier strategy for commodity ( in line with Global strategy)
  • Drive Initial sourcing and/ or re- sourcing process, manage supplier selection process from Request For Quotations to business award:
    • Define bidding list in line with supplier strategy for Commodity
    • Landed cost comparison
    • Negotiations
    • Sourcing Committee
    • Make or Buy
    • Supplier contracts
    • Management of Engineering change notices
    • Purchase order administration and maintenance
  • Support operational functions in solving supplier quality and logistic issues

 

 

Qualification and Technical Skills:

 

  • Business degree or combined engineering and business degree (or equivalent)
  • Ideally Technical background and/ or purchasing experience (+2 years)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Teamoriented and able to work independently
  • Proficiency in English, a second foreign language is preferable
  • Very good MS Office Knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Access)
