<span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Position Overview

<span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Lear is looking for a talented and passionate engineer responsible for technical requirements analysis and robust low-level electronic design development, with special focus on Functional Safety ISO26262 and Cybersecurity fields of expertise. This functional position is aimed at supporting Body Electronics and Electrification product lines.

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">The elected candidate will be involved in all phases of development of automotive electronic control units within the area of hardware design: first prototype concept definition, pre-series builds, design and process validation, and launch of production series.


<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">OEM project requirements analysis and management with IBM Rational DOORS tool.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Plan and develop functional safety ISO26262-5 v2011 and v2018 project work products: hardware safety requirements analysis, electronic hardware design, evaluation of hardware architecture metrics to meet targeted ASIL requirements, and assessment of safety goals violations with specific tools.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Analyze and propose solutions at product/system architecture level (HSM, firewalls, L3/L4 filtering, physical segregation, SAE J3061, tampering countermeasures) which prevent vulnerabilities on security by external attacks and guarantee product security requirements compliance.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Follow up technical roadmaps with semiconductors suppliers on security and safety features embedded on state-of-the-art devices.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Integrate digital advanced in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, BroadR-Reach, Ethernet) with latest 32-bit microcontroller architectures (ARM, TriCore).
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Support, invest in and develop a team of hardware engineers in the areas of functional safety and security. Lead and coordinate the FuSa & Cybersecurity hardware design team becoming a key specialist in these technical subjects.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Keep accountable on technical communications with external and internal customers (OEMs, tier2 suppliers, purchasing dept., program management and other engineering teams)


<span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">To be a success in this role you must have:

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electronics, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical…)
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Fluent English
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Prior experience with Automotive OEMs standards, vehicle architectures, and EMC electronic design guidelines
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri Light",sans-serif">Experience in automotive market or similar field
