Position Overview

Lear is looking for a Technical role experienced in hardware design, development and testing of high- power converters and high- voltage electronic products for EV/HEV vehicles. You will be involved in all phases of an electronic product development, from the concept definition, until release for production going through prototype, design and verification phases. You will be part of a highly skilled cross-functional and cross-regional development team at the cutting edge of vehicle electrification technology.


Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to)

  • Design and verification of power conversion topologies (isolated and non-isolated) and analog/digital circuits, with special focus on PFC and DCDC topologies, semiconductors and magnetic components, MCU- and DSP-based designs, and digital communication buses (CAN, SPI, Eth, PMBus, …)
  • Deliver verified robust designs using standard simulation tools (Matlab, PSIM, PSpice, …).
  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into a hardware design.
  • Implement electrical safety design according to industry standards for 400V and 800V high-voltage products design (IEC60664, IEC60950, UL840, …).
  • Implement EMC design rules (including EMI filters), both at schematic and PCB level


To be a success in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in an Electronics Engineering Discipline or equivalent.
  • Fluent English is a must
  • Power electronics knowledge
  • Background or experience in design of high-voltage products (400-800V)
  • Hands-on experience in laboratory environment (oscilloscope, programmable supplies and loads, LCRs, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Experience with working in automotive field would be a plus
