SW application engineer for core Electronics

Position Overview

Lear is looking for a SW Engineer for Electronics Product line. You will use the deep understanding of developing processes for define and analyze the SW requirements assigned, define a detailed SW design of its assigned SW Components, implement those SW Components and verify them before their integration with the rest of the SW Components of the SW System in a specific SW development project. Combining continuous improvement, quality data analysis and processes automation knowledge to develop engineering projects.


Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):


  • Define and document new SW requirements based on System Requirements and System design documentation
  • Analyze assigned SW requirements for their design & implementation in the software
  • Performs the detailed design of his/her assigned Software components within a development project
  • Implement software units of assigned SW components according to their design, the SW Requirements Specifications and coding standards
  • Perform Static analysis of the implemented SW units
  • Perform code review of the implemented SW units
  • Design test cases to verify SW units
  • Perform verification of the SW Units integration
  • Perform verification of the SW requirements – SW Test
  • Provide   technical support and feedback to   test team members on SW defects found and any other SW issue
  • Analyze assigned change requests (PCRs) to evaluate impact analysis and implement if approved.
  • Traceability at Software-level work products according Lear engineering development processes

To be a success in this role you must have:


  • Engineering degree in Electronics or Automation or Computer Science Engineering
  • Knowledge of Standard C design & Coding Rules
  • Model Based Design tools and methodologies, using the MathWorks state of the art (specially but not limited to Simulink and Stateflow). Experience in this field would be a plus
  • Knowledge of SW Architectural design procedures and techniques (Autosar) would be a plus
  • Knowledge of the Requirements management tools used in the organization & project (i.e. DOORS, TeamCenter)
  • Experience working in V model would be high appreciated
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
