At Kronach, the Lear Corporation specializes in the development of automotive electronics. The strategically supported products at this location include gateway and connectivity modules allowing the various BUS systems in cars to connect to the internet, to infrastructure and to the occupants by cutting edge 5G technology, WiFi, Bluteooth, GNSS and V2X.

 

 

 

Lear Corporation is at the forefront in driving the automotive sectors technological evolution in shifting from the conventional to the connected car; at the heart of this evolution are our gateway and connectivity product lines which will act as central hubs for internal and external communications within the next generation of vehicles.  In line with Lear’s business product line and road mapping strategy we are looking to hire talent into our systems and software engineering teams to drive the development of these reference platforms. This increased capability will contribute significantly to Lear to achieve its’ long-range plan for sales and profitable growth within the product line.

 

 

 

Position Overview:

 

Understand the system be able to derive software requirements out of system requirements. Enhance an existing design or create a new component´s design based on the requirements and the software architecture; implement the requirements in the most effective and efficient way; Test your implementation by creating proper Unit and Integration test; Review other colleagues´ code and design to find potential issues; make sure that your implementation comply to our static analysis tool requirements

 

  • Collaborate with a global team to support DevOps initiatives
  • Design, implement, and maintain the operational components
  • Create deployment tools, scripts, and additional components that enable deployment of our applications across different environments at a global scale
  • Work closely with development teams to improve workflows around build, test, and deployment of applications

 

 

To be a success in this role you must have:

 

  • 2+ years of software development experience (it’s a plus if you have experience building deployment tools)
  • Administration experience using scripting languages (Bash/PowerShell)
  • Experience with automation using scripting (Python/Ruby/Golang) and tools such as Puppet, Chef
  • A good understanding of the web and its protocols/technologies
  • Good knowledge on version control concepts and build systems
  • Experience doing continuous integration and deployment with tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with web servers (Jetty/Tomcat/IIS)
  • Good at picking up a new challenge on a daily basis, figuring things out on your own or with others
  • Knowledge of cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP) is advantageous 
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) is advantageous
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems (Jenkins/Travis/CircleCI) is advantageous
  • Fluent in English, German is advantageous
