JOB DESCRIPTION

 

COST CENTER: 35-WEAVING                                              JOB TITLE: WARPING OPERATOR/UTILITY- SECTIONAL

   I. PRIMARY PURPOSE: OPERATE WARPER; CREATE 1st QUALITY BEAMS ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE.

 

 II. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: SCISSORS, PENS, APRON, LEASING STRING. OVERHEAD CRANE, HAND JACK, SEWING MACHINE, HAND TOOLS, SWIFT-TACK GUN, COMPUTER, FORKLIFT.

 

 

III. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY; KNOWLEDGE OF CREELER POSITION FUNCTIONS; MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE (STD & METRIC)

 

IV. SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: SUPERVISOR- WEAVING/LEAD PERSON

VI. WORKING PROCEDURE:

 

 

1.  SET-UP- MATCH DATA SHEET TO GE WARPING INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREELING AND BAND INFORMATION. ENTER DATA SHEET INFORMATION INTO THE COMPUTER; VERIFY PATTERN AND END COUNT. COUNT PACKAGES IN CREEL.  PULL YARN SHEET TO COMB. COUNT ENDS AT REED AND TIE OFF EXCESS ENDS.  HOOK YARN THROUGH COMB.  USE DATA SHEET TO SET CONTROL BOXES AT WARPER AND CREEL.  SET CREEL TENSION.  SET ON AND OFF TENSIONS ON CREEL; CHECK FOR CROSSED END- CORRECT IF NEEDED. ATTACH YARN TO CYLINDER AND RUN ONE REVOLUTION.  MEASURE WIDTH OF YARN.  CUT AND REMOVE YARN AND ADJUST WIDTH OF COMB.  REPEAT FOR ONE REVOLUTION UNTIL DESIRED WIDTH IS ATTAINED. 

 

 2. RUN WARP- INSERT AND ANCHOR LEASE CORDS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SECTION..  RUN REQUIRED YARDAGE.  CUT, TIE, AND TUCK YARN.  RELEASE LEASE CORDS. ATTACH AND START NEXT SECTION. REINSERT AND ANCHOR LEASE CORDS.  REPEAT FOR EACH SECTION.

 

  1. BEAM WARP- MEASURE AND CENTER BEAM.  ATTACH YARN TO BEAM. AT 10 YDS, CLIP (1) END AND MARK BEAM WITH CHALK (EXCEPT WHEN WARPING NATURAL YARN). REDUCE ENDAGE AS REQUIRED, ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTION SHEET.  RUN YARN FROM CYLINDER TO BEAM. USE PLASTIC TO WRAP BEAM.  RECORD INSTRUCTION SHEET AND ATTACH TO BEAM.

 

 4. VARIABLE WORK- REPAIR LOST ENDS; AND, AT LEASES, CHECK ENDS FOR FLATS, END OUTS, ETC. CORRECT IF NECESSARY,

 

 5. PERFORM ALL CREELING TASKS DURING CREEL CHANGES.

 

 6. FOLLOW ALL SAFETY RULES AND PERFORM NECESSARY HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES.

 

 7. PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE WARPING SUPERVISOR AND/OR LEAD PERSON.
