Product Engineer I (FOAM Design)

Key responsibilities include the following: 

  • Support the launch of new seating systems components from conception until product launch 
  • Integration of foam, trim, plastics, structures, and other non-JIT components into the final seat complete assembly 
  • Responsible for foam design and engineering and component releasing
  • Seat Foam complete BOM management 
  • Engineering Changes release 
  • Issue and manage engineering changes to implementation 
  • Issue and manage design requests for drawing and 3D updates
  • Facilitate design for manufacturing meetings to assure the manufacturability of the foam pads. 
  • Facilitate engineering profile gate/design reviews
  • Technical internal and external competitive benchmarking
  • Support and participate in prototype build and reviews.
  • Willingness to travel locally, interstate, and internationally
  • Conduct / participate weekly design reviews. 
  • Present technical A3 in ASIA & Global BEP presentations. 
  • Supports the implementation and maintenance of Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS/EMS) and Lear’s 7 Key Elements (Health & Safety) to ensure customer satisfaction, continual improvement, and sustainability through active participation. 
  • Performs other tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned of a similar nature or level. 

 

Qualifications 

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering graduate.
  • May have at least 2-3 years’ experience in similar environment; preferably automotive related industry 
  • Good analytical communication, organizational, logic, creativity, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skills/Knowledge in Computer Aided Design CAD applications, quality systems, automotive related background, and product designs.
