As an AME Automation Engineer you will be a member of the regional Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team covering Europe and Africa. Reporting to AME Controls Manager, your main tasks will be focused on defining, sourcing and launching automated machinery and processes, assuring the standardization of the equipment in LEAR plants.



  • Identification of new opportunities for automation within the manufacturing process.
  • Reviewing concept of new automatization solutions, preparing specifics and requirements for external RFQ
  • Reviewing offers and solutions proposed by external companies
  • Designing and defining manufacturing processes adopting LEAR standard if any, of creating them if needed.
  • Designing new automation equipment or processes, Fail-Safe Programming. Electrical and Pneumatical schemes. Simulations and commissioning of installations
  • Developing and maintaining clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment or processes
  • Improvement of existing PLC Control Systems
  • Staff training where necessary – typically after implementing new processes or equipment, or making changes to existing ones
  • Cooperating with Control and LPS Teams to ensure latest programming solutions and features are covered
  • Interface LPS implementation between external suppliers and Lear LPS/Plant Team
  • Troubleshooting automated processes or equipment when errors occur
  • Track project planning in order to meet milestones.



  • TIA Portal Skills. (PLC Ladder Logic, Graph, SCL and STL, WinCC and Visual Basic)
  • Industrial Network management. (ProfiNet, EtherNET, EtherNETIP, SERCOS etc.)
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests
  • Knowledge about RobotStudio & Robot Guide
  • English – at least B2 level
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented personality
  • Ability to communicate well to other members of the development team
