Position overview:

 

Our future Building & Facility Maintenance Engineer will have as main responsibility to increase overall efficiency and improve the level of our Maintenance standards.

 

Additional duties will include (but may not be limited to):

 

  • Performs preventive maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components; tests system competency , component devices and evaluates performance. 
  • Repairs , install and maintains a variety of facilities systems, components and structures; repairs building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection equipment/systems, sprinkler systems, sensors and related hardware and software; constructs and maintains indoor/outdoor facilities, fans, lights and related; conducts structural inspections for safety, Electricity Generator and Air Compressed.
  • Maintains induction and air handling units; cleans and inspects all equipment, completes filter changes, lubricates, maintains and services mechanical and refrigeration and/or cooling systems.
  • Coordinates maintenance of pool water sanitation and related pool environment equipment.
  • Performs service and preventative maintenance on small motorized equipment engines and on automotive vehicles; troubleshoots equipment problems and identifies when appropriate for external service provider to make repairs or perform warranty work.
  • Identifies repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors; participates in estimates and evaluations of project costs; monitors work of vendors or contractors; assists in the review of new construction or remodel plans to assure compliance with facility maintenance standards.
  • Accesses and makes all levels of adjustments to computerized control systems, such as for lighting or energy management systems; and troubleshoots control system problems.
  • Performs electronic recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair so that FMS division makes the most efficient and effective use of computerized maintenance management and service request systems; tracks and closes assigned work orders; may monitor work orders assigned to others and assist them in managing work orders.
  • Maintains a broad working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of college facilities.
  • Responds to college emergencies and closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational. Assists with tasks required in preparing to open campuses after a closure including snow and ice removal, systems and equipment checks and start-up operations as assigned.
  • Knows and understands all safety procedures of the college.  Trains less-skilled staff on safety procedures related to FMS operations.  Assists in structural safety inspections.
  • Operates a college vehicle and is responsible for its safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs.
  • Maintains appropriate records and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

To be a success in this role you must have:

 

  • Engineering degree or equivalent 
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in maintenance & facilities management in automotive industry
  • Previous experience in a similar postion
  • High understanding of the PLC & automation
  • Strong knowledge facilities machines and equipment.
  • Good understanding of IATF requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • French/English: Advanced Level.
