This position is located in our Pine Grove, Pennsylvania facility, which is approximately 30 minutes northeast of Harrisburg, the state capitol of Pennsylvania. Pine Grove also has easy access to both Baltimore and Philadelphia, both of which are about two and one-half hours from the facility. Our Pine Grove facility develops and manufactures a wide array of products for the Company’s Specialty Products Group.

 

Production Supervisor- 2nd and 3rd Shift Opportunities

 

Job Description:

 

  • Ensures Safety is top priority
  • Regular involvement to meet the requirements of the safety goals (risk assessments, audits, etc.) and reporting identified issues appropriately
  • Directly supervise work of assigned personnel on assigned shift; provide growth and development
  • Schedule and assign work and schedules to meet daily and weekly requirements.
  • Empowers team to engage in defining and recommending continuous improvement processes and activities, and champions the opportunity for improvement
  • Assist in developing and installing methods, improvements and cost saving ideas
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and counselling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Has the authority to stop processing if the material quality is not to standard.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for completing and achieving effective Accident/Incident investigations.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Drive & promote Kaizens through the team, support and drive all department six sigma/lean initiatives
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent education and years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use analytical tools to identify and drive improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientated.
  • Solid leadership skills; able to lead by example; decision-maker.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-motivated individual; displays ability to work in highly productive, constantly changing environment. 
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Motivated, committed, and proactive leader in bringing about positive results for the organization
  • Strategic and tactical thinker with strong presentation skills and ability to influence others
