Engineering Manager 1 - JIT

Job Description - Engineering Manager 1 - JIT 

 

Key Requirements: 

  1. Understand RFQ and SOR requirements of customers. 
  1. Design and development of seat as per customer requirements 
  1. Day-to-day interaction with customers to understand technical requirements, processes, and procedures 
  1. Should have strong technical knowledge of the seating design & development process. 
  1. Should have strong engineering analytical skills, should be able to perform basic engineering hand calculations and lead technical discussions. 
  1. Should have in-depth knowledge on the seat assembly process and integration of systems. 
  1. Should be able to understand CAE reports, propose countermeasures, and work on mitigation plans to meet performance requirements during reviews with customers. 
  1. Should have in-depth knowledge on GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA, DFM, and DFA. 
  1. Should be familiar with problem-solving tools like A3, A4, and 8D, 5W quality tools is an added advantage. 
  1. Should be able to lead engineering discussions during design reviews/product reviews at customer and suppliers 
  1. Should know seat system test requirements – both regulatory and non-regulatory 
  1. Should be able to work closely with test lab for all developmental tests. 
  1. Should able to support plant for build issues & extend engineering support for Quality issues resolution 
  1. Responsible for meeting project timelines for all engineering deliverables. 
  1. Should have strong cross-functional communication skills 
  1. Should be able to manage and closely work with design teams at remote locations 
  1. Maintain good professional relations with customers and suppliers. 
  1. Responsible for design feasibility reviews with suppliers and CFT teams. 
  1. Should be able to travel to customer sites, plants, and supplier sites for engineering discussions. 
  1. Awareness of Engineering change management process 
  1. Handle multiple OEMs and/or multiple Projects 

 

 

For success in this role: 

  1. B. E/ B. Tech/ M. E/ M. Tech (Mechanical/Automobile) with experience of seat system design experience. 
  1. Product Launch experience is an added advantage. 
  1. Effective usage of product life cycle management tools – LearPro (equivalent) and PLM. 
  1. Basic knowledge of CAD tools- Catia v5 and UG. 
  1. Exposure & working experience with Global OEMs is an added advantage.
