An exciting position has arisen for a Senior Quality Manager to drive the execution and deployment of the organizations Strategic Quality Plan for a premium OEM customer group. With direct responsibility for driving operational quality standards and efficiency within regional manufacturing facilities, the Senior Quality Manager will also act as the focal point of contact for the Customer Group managing all business interface for quality related topics.

 

Overseeing multiple Plants based across Europe and Africa and with Quality Managers in each plant acting as direct reports, the SQM will be tasked with managing quality assurance resources to ensure product flow is consistent with established internal standards, industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

 

As a Senior Quality Manager, your duties may include (but not be limited to)

 

  • Represent and drive excellence within the LEAR quality function internally and externally at all hierarchal levels.
  • Working directly with our customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and maintained in line with Lear standards.
  • Driving launch readiness activities in pre-production by ensuring that all relevant APQP milestones are met contributing to final process and product release (PPAP)
  • Ensuring that all customer and internal KPIs are met during series production for customer programs within the region through driving the improvement of quality related costs, leading customer escalations and critical quality related topics.
  • Analyzing organizational Quality Metrics and performs managerial reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans

 

Personnel attributes

  • A minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Quality Manager for a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to drive performance form a central function into plant operations.
  • Experience in having managed teams working within different cultures or countries would be advantageous
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to condense and simplify operational reporting metrics
  • Thorough working knowledge of quality tools and principles i.e. APQP, PPAP, FMEA
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English and German
  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technical related subject.
