GLOBAL CHIEF BDU ENGINEER
JOB LOCATION (SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – LEAR EAST CAMPUS/WORLD HEADQUARTERS)

 

As a member of the Global Engineering Electrification team, the Global Chief BDU Engineer will be responsible for the Advance Activities of the Product Line (Battery Disconnect Units) including its reference platform with the main target of defining a portfolio of cost-efficient and high-performance concepts, which allows the company to increase the product value-proposition to the customers while optimizing cost.

 

The Role and workload by percentages (in brackets):

  • Managing Reference Platform activities/ADV team (10%)
  • Responsible to negotiate Reference Platform targets with Product Management team. (5% average)
  • Support Product Management, Advance Sales, … to support external opportunities and internal Lear business plans (20%)
  •  Lead cross-function/global project team (20%)
  •  Accountable for Ref. Platform Project tasks and timing. (5%)
  •  Responsible searching new opportunities as: technologies scouting, alternative concepts, external partners… (15%)
  •  Define and deploy roadmap for cost optimization (included in previous point).
  •  Accountability and ownership of the Global WO and Capex for advanced BDU activities. (5%)
  •  Integration with Agile methodology as main trend in coming years. (5%)
  •  Represent Engineering in the Senior Management Meetings review. (10%)
  •  Accountable to define ways to increase re-usability and reduce NRE in coordination with global cross function teams. (5%)
  •  Technical Regulations goalkeeper for electrification. (5%)

 

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Degree or master in electrical engineering.
  • Technical Skills/Experience in Electrical Vehicle.
  • Management Skills/experience: team coordination, communication, time plan creation

 

 

Bonus If You Have:

  •   Experience high voltage distribution power
  •   Experience outside North America
