As a member of the Electronics team, the Validation Engineer will be responsible for:

Work with a cross functional engineering team to develop, coordinate, monitor and report on the validation testing of automotive electronic control modules. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a very dynamic setting, and will have had previous automotive industry testing experience.

The Validation Engineer works closely with the lab technicians and product engineering to execute the validation – verification test plans. They will also interface daily with product and test engineering to ensure the test specifications and product validation parameters are understood and adhered to.

This position requires a combination of skill sets involving project management, data analysis and technical writing abilities.


The Role:

 Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) - develop and execute complex Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).

 Compile, integrate, and plan required validation tasks per specific OEM test requirements.

 Use the appropriate planning and tracking tools required to manage complex verification plans, including multiple test locations, and different OEM validation standards.

 Support equipment startup and problem solving during initial validation/testing phase.

The Hour by Hour Task Breakdown with percentages:

  • Meeting with peers and customer to brainstorm and create requirements from scratch (30% of day)
  • Design reviews, component management and print drafting / release (30% of day)
  • Feature development, product / vehicle reviews and failure modes analysis (40% of day)


Your Qualifications:

 A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is required for this position.

 3-5 years of relevant OEM automotive validation testing experience.

 Basic understanding of engineering theory and principles of validation testing.

 Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills including DFMEA and Statistical Methods.

 Well organized, able to work well with a diverse team and varying personalities/cultures.

 Self-starter that is willing to perform a wide range of engineering duties.

 Experience testing electronic modules, RF products, high power devices and HEV products.
