Software Architect - Core Electronics Reference Design

Job Description:


This position is responsible for leading Software (SW) technology, solutions and activities for the development of Lear’s global reference design for Core Electronics, according to Lear’s product line roadmap and strategy.  The position reports to the Chief Engineer in the Core Electronics Product Line engineering and will work closely with Product architecture leader of reference designs and other engineering departments including product management, systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering, and purchasing to develop SW platforms that enable Lear to achieve its long-range plan for sales and profitability growth for the product line.  The position will be located at Lear’s offices in Valls, Spain.
 

 

Responsibilities (not limited to):
•    Define SW architecture together with Systems and HW architects for future Zone Controller Modules platforms
•    Participate in component selection (MCU, SOC, Ethernet Switch, Memories, ….) supporting meetings with suppliers
•    Define SW strategy for building blocks together with responsible for other SW areas in Lear engineering
•    Lead Firmware activities in the Core team to guarantee smooth bring-up of prototype boards, developing BSP, Ethernet and communication stacks and specific drivers
•    Support SW platform team activities for SW deployment and integration into target design
•    Lead SW technology and solutions roadmap aligned with new vehicle architectures and market trends, develop innovative concepts

 

 

Qualifications:
•    Engineering degree (electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications...)
•    Minimum 10-year experience in embedded Software Development, preferable in the automotive market
•    5+ years of experience leading complex embedded systems engineering projects
•    Experience working in complex supplier ecosystems and business relationships, including hardware and software suppliers
•    Experience with real time operating systems and multicore processors
•    Good knowledge of C. Other programming languages are valued (C++, C++11, Python...)
•    Knowledge of AUTOSAR, experience developing or integrating and configuring Automotive AUTOSAR compliant stacks
•    Knowledge of embedded LINUX, UBoot, Yocto
•    Good communication skills. Good at teamwork
•    Agile framework development experience
