Job Description

Master Builder - Orion Plant

As a member of the production team, the Master Builder is responsible for training, supporting, and advising production Team Members on job functions and standardized work processes. This role serves as a key resource on the production floor, helping ensure safety, quality, productivity, and continuous development of team members while supporting customer expectations.

The Role

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Effectively train, develop, and support employees on job functions and various workstations while following standardized work instructions and adhering to company policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of all jobs on the assigned production line and demonstrate the ability to meet cycle time requirements.
  • Adhere to Quality System policies, procedures, and other IATF-related documents.
  • Follow all processes associated with production and quality.
  • Perform each job within the immediate work area in accordance with written operator, inspection, and work instructions.
  • Assemble and manufacture seat products per written operator instructions and inspection requirements while meeting customer expectations.
  • Monitor subassembly and final assembly areas for product consistency and quality.
  • Identify defective materials and ensure proper containment and scrap procedures are followed.
  • Make sound decisions that affect overall product quality and production efficiency.
  • Promote a safe work environment and identify risks or concerns to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Follow all safety and ISO 14001 standards in the production area.
  • Ensure employees have the equipment and resources necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member across departments and shifts.
  • Support customer visits and communicate effectively with Lear program team members.
  • Travel as needed to support training, production, or business requirements.
  • Follow the direction of the immediate Supervisor and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good attendance record and positive work ethic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills due to frequent customer visits and Lear program team members on site.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform jobs according to written operator and inspection instructions.
  • Ability to use automated machines, tools, and fastening equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime hours and weekends as needed to support production requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience, including knowledge of production, quality, and material flow processes.
  • Knowledge of assembly equipment, machines, and tools.
  • Experience training or mentoring employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
