Job Description

As a Free Trade Agreements Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the regulations and requirements of applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), including ACE 55, TLCUEM, CPTPP, Pacific Alliance, Central America FTAs, USMCA, and CAFTA.

The role requires close collaboration with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to support origin qualification processes, obtain and validate Certificates of Origin, and ensure timely responses to trade compliance requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining FTA compliance and supporting the company's international trade operations.

Responsibilities

 

Analyze Bill of Materials (BOMs) and product cost structures.
Evaluate Rules of Origin and determine product eligibility under applicable Free Trade Agreements.
Perform origin qualification of finished goods.
Manage supplier Certificates of Origin and related documentation.
Audit origin records and ensure compliance with trade agreement requirements.
Maintain qualification databases, reports, and supporting documentation.
Develop and update KPI dashboards and management reports.
Support customer requests related to trade agreement compliance and origin certification.
Ensure adherence to ISO 14001, ISO 9001/IATF 16949, and applicable customs and trade regulations.

 

 

 

 

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Logistics Engineering, IT Engineering, Finance or Cost Accounting.

Experience Requirements

Desirable experience in product qualification and supplier Certificates of Origin management.
 
Requesting and managing Certificates of Origin from suppliers under the main Free Trade Agreements signed by Mexico.
Experience in Bill of Materials (BOM) analysis, including cost structures, BOM levels, and product composition.

Proactive, analytical, excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, leadership, strategic orientation.

Intermediate-Advance level Office MS (Specially Excel reports, Macros, Pivot Tables, Formulas, etc.).

Languages

Intermediate-Advance English Level (Written & Spoken).
