We are looking for a Cost Manager to join our Seating team in our world class facility in Coventry

Role Overview

The Cost Manager is a critical position within our UK JIT Seating Team. The Cost Manager will report directly to the Platform Director and will be responsible for the creation of cost estimates for both tooling and production piece price for new and existing components within the business unit.

Role Responsibilities


Manage the cross functional relationship with Commercial, Purchasing, Program and Engineering departments to validate cost requests and their content.
Create detailed ground up tool and piece cost breakdowns to support customer and supplier negotiation.
Generate and maintain commodity by commodity cost database with market driven cost drivers.
Prepare estimates for tooling and component from initial design detail and create manufacturing process plans, for new and existing programs for automotive seating components.
To hold cost estimating responsibility for major programs and changes to current production.
Present accurate and robust data to support management decision and communications with suppliers and customers.
Cost  analysis / Preparation of variance walk to cost model and competitor benchmarks.
Review current manufacturing methods and make proposals for improvement where appropriate
Participate on cost reduction exercises VA/VE / CTO and conduct product analysis and calculate cost reductions.
Support customer and supplier reviews and present variance costing data to the teams.
