Lear’s Industry 4.0 Strategy

As a global technology leader of automotive Seating and Electrical components operating across over 250 facilities within 37 countries around the world, Lear Corporation is at the forefront of various aspects of technological evolution. Industry 4.0 within Lear Corporation is underpinned through the integration of intelligent digital technologies and analytical systems into manufacturing and industrial processes. Lear Corporation’s industry 4.0 strategy is primarily divided into 2 key operating functions. Firstly, the successful project management and execution of industry 4.0 initiatives into our manufacturing operations. Secondly, the digital analysis and data gleaned from visual management systems ensuring Lear takes informed decisions across its wider business maximizing our operational efficiency whilst upholding the highest quality standards ensuring that Lear’s operational and financial objectives can be achieved. 

 

As a data scientist you will be engaged with various departments to understand their data and preform analysis of the raw data to turn it in to meaningful information to support strategic decisions. Supporting industry 4.0 projects and the rollout of inactivates that are identified.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

• As a member of the EU&AF AME team, manage data-focused projects using Lear’s analytics platform within EU&AF AME team.

• Contribute to projects from inception, addressing initial problem statements.

• Develop standard data analysis toolset for senior management.

• Utilize data mining methods and tools.

• Generate large databases from structured and unstructured data sources.

• Analyze customer forecast data for trends and patterns.

• Employ programming languages to transform big data into manageable datasets.

• Translate technical data into actionable insights for stakeholders.

• Create interactive dashboards with real-time data visuals.

• Provide expert analysis throughout program lifecycle.

• Integrate diverse data feeds into scalable datasets using various technologies.

• Publish global performance KPI charts.

• Maintain and enhance documentation and procedures according to internal and Sarbanes Oxley standards.

• Optimize system performance for hardware and technology resources.

• Work independently with strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships across departments.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

Required:

  • 3- 5 years’ work experience in IT system environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or comparable technical study
  • Business Analysis expirience
  • Proven experience in management of the full lifecycle of projects in data science and machine learning.
  • Strong analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to expert level of knowledge of Microsoft SQL platform.
  • Intermediate level of software development skills

 

Preferred:

  • Experience within automotive industry or comparable high volume production industry
  • Experience of working within a multinational organization with international, cross functional teams.
  • Exposure to data management within manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in coding or software / systems development
