Thermal Comfort Solutions, a business segment of Lear Corporation, is a leader in the design and manufacture of seat heating, seat comfort system and seat ventilation solutions.

 

Role overview:

The Lead Application Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing electrical systems and components for various projects. The successful candidate will be expected to have a strong background in electrical engineering and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The role will involve collaboration with other engineers, as well as project managers, clients, and vendors.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate customer requirements. Support RFQ phase with cost calculations. Technical interface to customer for electronics. System Requirements management.
  • Designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborating with other engineers and project managers to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Performing system and component level testing and analysis to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues during design, development, and testing phases.
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, reports and EOLT specs.
  • Providing technical support to project teams, clients, and vendors to successfully launch the program.
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry standards and best practices.
  • Participating in the evaluation of new technologies and tools for potential use in future projects.
  • Leading hardware and software teams of engineers and technicians on assigned projects.
  • Support purchasing with PCB manufacturing quotes and design for manufacture.  Support cost saving opportunities and supplier changes.

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline - We may also consider other qualifications, which are supported by strong relevant experience in this field.
  • Vector CANalyzer or CANoe and Rational DOORS
  • Experience of using Automotive APQP and working to ASPICE
  • Knowledge of Embedded software and quality assurance processes.
  • Fluent in English
