Position Overview

 

We are currently looking for a Project Manager, to lead a team of project engineers and designers, and develop complete automotice seat systems and subsystems. The main responsbilities include overseeing the technincal content of the seating system, managing the development budget, and reporting to the customer and Lear businesses.

 

Main Responsibilities :

 

  • Lead a team to develop automotive seating systems that meet or exceed our customers’ specifications.

  • Create achievable tactical plans that allow completion of deliverables in line with customer and Lear milestones.

  • Create budgets that provide for appropriately competitive resource provision to deliver the product.

  • Develop your team by creating and maintaining specific training plans for each team member.

  • Manage the creation of “Moment of Truth” (prototype) seats

  • Own the open issues list and drive all issues to resolution.

  • Own the test plan and ensure the plan is successfully completed.

  • Provide technical oversight, and approval for containments, permits and other engineering judgements

  • Conduct and chair design reviews

  • Ensure that the engineering drawings produced for each product are complete and unambiguous.

  • Have working knowledge of legal, customer and Lear seating and safety requirements

  • Ensure all components and assemblies are released to the Lear and customer PLM systems

  • Create, maintain and release all required documentation to the Learpro programme management system

  • Support the Lear and customer manufacturing facilities in resolving technical issues from the product post job 1

  • Manage and coordinate and audit best cost country offshore tasks and project work

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

 

  • Tertiary level STEM qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 7 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role, in an automotive seating environment would be preferred.
  • Track record in technical leadership and delivery of automotive interior trim projects
  • Ability to check and approve an engineering drawing
  • Highly competent in MS-excel and PowerPoint
  • Driving license
