Position overview:
As a Quality Engineer at Lear, you will be responsible for leading problem analysis, driving corrective actions, and ensuring timely closure of all quality‑related issues across internal, customer, supplier, and warranty concerns for both launch projects and ongoing production. Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer, the role supports plant quality activities across different OEM customers and plays a key part in the continuous improvement of plant quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and the achievement of high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (PPS / 8D), ensuring appropriate containment and closure within defined targets.
- Drive root cause analysis, implement robust countermeasures, and ensure no repeat issues.
- Support APQP and PPAP activities during product launches, ensuring timely submission of supplier and customer PSWs in line with build phases.
- Participate in and lead cross-functional meetings to develop, update, and control FMEAs and Control Plans in line with LEAR processes.
- Complete Control Plan updates for assigned production lines within one month of start date and maintain ongoing monthly reviews.
- Act as a quality interface with external customers, providing clear problem-resolution feedback through professional presentations (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Participate in customer visits and audits (e.g., WCPA audits) and actively build strong customer relationships.
- Support and conduct IATF 16949 audits, identify non-conformities, and implement effective action plans with prompt follow-up.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across plant quality systems and processes.
Key skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proven experience of 3+ in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Experienced in using core quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC and MSA.
- Knowledge of IATF standards and problem-solving methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a passion for continuous improvement
