Job Description

As a member of the Operations team, the Production Coach is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production employees to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery objectives are met. This role interprets specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and job orders for production team members, ensuring that manufacturing requirements are clearly communicated and accurately executed. The Production Coach assigns duties, monitors workflow, and takes appropriate action to address operational challenges while effectively communicating issues, concerns, or observations that may impact Lear's ability to manufacture a quality product and achieve on-time delivery commitments. This position also supports continuous improvement efforts and promotes a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise production employees and provide day-to-day leadership and support.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, hire, onboard, and train employees to support operational needs.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work activities to meet production objectives.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching, recognition, and corrective action as needed.
  • Address employee concerns, resolve workplace issues, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Inspect products to ensure conformance with quality specifications and standards.
  • Direct machine setup and adjustments to support efficient production operations.
  • Review production schedules and estimate labor requirements to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and performance targets.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through changes in work processes, equipment utilization, and working conditions.
  • Analyze and resolve production and workforce issues, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.

Education Requirements

Minimum of an Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and two years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
