JOB TITLE: Materials Supervisor


As a Materials Supervisor, you are responsible for the safe management of the warehouse and shipping/receiving functions; responsible for the supervision of Material Handlers, Material Clerks, and Shipping/Receiving Clerks, while coordinating the shipping of materials in and out of the Hebron, OH facility.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for subordinate safety compliance and training; functions as role model relative to safety and environmental issues.
  • Responsible for warehouse layout and cleanliness of the facility and grounds, as it pertains to the location and organization of materials.
  • Trains, schedules, and supervises the activities of the material handlers and materials clerks on all shifts.
  • Communicates with all departments in the necessary time frames to ensure products are ready for shipment.
  • Schedules and facilitates regular communication meetings with material handlers.
  • Ultimately responsible for the timely arrival of raw materials to the Production operations from warehouse storage.
  • Schedules Lear trucks and plans customer outbound shipments.
  • Responsible for perpetual inventory activities, coordinating all cycle counts using Materials staff.
  • Monitors break points of FG and component inventory during ECL changes.
  • Support SER activities (receiving / shipping / inventory mgmt.).
  • Trains New Materials Associates to the standard work instructions.
  • Acts as the department manager in his/her absence.
  • Responsible for the receiving and control of all Non-Production material for the Hebron plant.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Your Qualifications:

  • Accident Investigation/On-the-job injuries entry level training
  • 2-year college degree or equivalent; 4-year degree in relevant field preferred
  • Corrective and preventive action process entry level training
  • Environmental and management system overview
  • Fork truck certification
  • Mathematics entry level knowledge
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication & people skills; team orientation
  • High degree of reliability and a positive work ethic
  • Ability to work flexible schedule as needed
  • Good analytic and organization abilities
  • Quality Management System Overview
  • Right-to-know/Hazardous Communication
  • 3-years+ of supervisory experience


Bonus If You Have:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in shipping and receiving in positions of progressive responsibility
  • Good ability using Microsoft Applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
