Plant Manager

We are looking for a Plant Manager to lead our Foam Facility in Houghton Le Spring facility (Sunderland).
The Plant Managers role is to provide leadership across the facility and to help achieves Lears strategic goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

  • Oversees day-to-day activities for the operations, quality, finance, human resource, information systems, and launch functions of an automotive plant, as well as directs the establishment and maintenance of community and customer relations for optimal customer satisfaction
  • Fully responsibility for P&L and CAPEX for an automotive plant
  • Directs and oversees the implementation of proprietary processes to ensure the facility is operating at its optimal level in a just-in-time environment
  • Directs, manages, and monitors the overall plant operations with general responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities
  • Oversees the execution of quality reviews of the various plant functions for optimal efficiency and quality
  • Oversees the risk analysis evaluation associated with production, as well as the development and implementation of contingencies based on the needs of the customer
  • Directs the allocation of workload to ensure all teams are fully staffed and able to complete work goals
  • Directs the establishment of long-term goals and objectives for the facility to anticipate and plan for future programs, as well as to identify potential operational cost reduction
  • Oversees the interaction with vendors, customers, operations manager, and suppliers to ensure the plant provides superior customer service
  • Oversees plant profitability, production, quality, and service to exceed industry standards, and secure a market leadership position
  • Directs production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant
  • Oversees the development of production plans for the efficient use of materials, machines, and human resources, as well as the research of best industry practices in all areas of the operation to modify and implement them into the facility
  • Oversees the budget development process and development of corporate strategies to achieve organization goals
  • Oversees the definition, scheduling, and implementation of corporate strategies to impact production cost, quality, and performance for optimal efficiency
  • Manages labor and equipment requirements and production specifications
  • Oversees the collaboration with various departments to resolve production and quality concerns, complaints, or grievances
  • Directs and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production to strive for continuous improvement of process improvements
  • Directs and coordinates plant operations within company policies and procedures
  • Oversees the determination of corporate methodology and strategies utilized to foster a well-trained and motivated staff and to ensure optimal quality and efficiency
  • Oversees the negotiation of costs of raw materials, parts, and components needed to ensure profitability and competitive edge in the industry
  • Serves as the main point-of-contact for our customers and suppliers
  • Conducts employee performance reviews, and schedules and conducts plant meetings to keep employees abreast of the outlook of the plant and discusses long range goals
