Position Overview

 

We are looking for an IT Support Analyst with the mission to provide IT support to the Sunderland JIT and FOAM facilities, systems, and services, ensuring both local and corporate compliance tasks and checks are completed.

 

Main Responsibilities :

 

  • Delivering prompt 1st / 2nd line technical support and conducting thorough problem analysis and rectification for production and office users across both Sunderland Plants.
  • Engaging with the helpdesk and other external teams to troubleshoot and triage issues to resolution.
  • Ensuring uptime of critical and non-critical IT systems by completing daily checks, including virtual environments, networks, and critical shopfloor hardware to minimize production downtime.
  • Upgrading and optimizing hardware/software to meet user requirements, boost productivity, and maintain system stability in line with corporate requirements.
  • Monitoring and resolving LAN/WAN issues to ensure uninterrupted communication performance.
  • Maintaining documentation and procedures to facilitate seamless operations, preserve a valuable knowledge base, and maintain a comprehensive historical database.
  • Completing local and corporate compliance activities and supporting audit activities.
  • Planning and executing preventive maintenance activities, including contractual maintenance for essential equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Managing an adequate inventory of IT consumables to support the daily functioning of all IT equipment working with a non-production purchasing application.
  • Leading cross-functional projects within the plant, working with external vendors when required

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working in IT Support, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical problem-resolving skills, working alone or in a team.
  • To be able to provide On-call support in the future as part of a Rota.
  • MCITP /MCTS SQL 2016 (or above) and MCSE/MCP Windows 2016 (or above) certifications preferred
  • Hardware – Dell Servers, production printers, Cisco wired and wireless infrastructures, and Dell/Lenovo Workstations & Laptops. 
  • Software:

                   Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022

                   Windows Workstations & MS Office 365

                   Microsoft SQL 2016 / 2019 / 2022

                   Nagios – updating and monitoring

                   Avamar cloud backup software

                   Comms – Cisco networking experience including Switches and Wireless Access points configuration

                   Cabling – structured cabling system, category 5 Ethernet & fibre
