Warehouse Supervisor

 

  • To represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic, and positive manner
  • Ensure an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand
  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are always understood and practiced by the team
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of goods
  • Drive a zero-tolerance mind set for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure customer deliverables are met fully
  • Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business
  • Develop plans for future capacity needs
  • Ensure inventories are accurate and control inventory levels by ensuring physical counts are conducted and reconciled with the system utilising help of the warehouse team
  • Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods in and goods out including labelling of all stock items
  • Ensure that any IT and automated systems are accurate and up to date
  • Identify any systems/process improvements and drive through recommendations for change
  • Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements
  • Review ways to reduce waste
  • Develop and maintain metrics/KPIs, reports, process documentation, customer service logs and training and safety records
  • Create policies and procedures for logistics activities and ensure all systems meet the standards for accreditation in line with the quality systems
  • Continuously review ways to aid efficiency, add value and reduce costs as well as delivering continuous improvement initiatives
  • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes
  • Coach, manage and develop logistics staff, team leaders and supervisors to optimize performance and meet targets and deadlines.

  • Monitor and Manage time and attendance for the warehouse team.

  • Comply with all relevant HSE legislation and local policies and procedures.

 

 

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Relevant Engineering/Tier 1 automotive Management, experience within the Logistics Function.
  • Educated to a HNC standard or equivalent in a Logistical discipline.
  • Experience with MRP systems, preferably AS400/BPCS
  • Strong knowledge of logistics Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Strong knowledge of WMS/ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong background in continuous improvement techniques. (Kanban, Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, Gemba).
  • Possess a working knowledge of PC skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Be able to demonstrate a proactive and flexible attitude to work, adopting a “hands on” approach as and when appropriate.
  • Have effective communication skills to allow you to communicate with a wide range of people and departments both internally and externally
  • Be sufficiently numerate and a clear logical thinker
  • Be self-motivated
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure
