Position Title: Environmental, Health, and Safety Officer 

 

Job Summary: 

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Officer will support the attainment of EHS objectives and goals, and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and corporate requirements. This role will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental and Health & Safety Management System (EHSMS) standards. The position focuses on fostering a safe and sustainable workplace by promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and standards. 

- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).  

- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and environmental monitoring to identify hazards and potential non-compliance issues. 

- Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation. 

- Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees and contractors. 

- Collaborate with various departments to drive EHS initiatives and integrate EHS standards into business processes. 

- Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory agencies and corporate leadership in a timely and accurate manner. 

- Support the company's sustainability initiatives and environmental conservation efforts. 

- Respond to emergency situations and participate in the emergency response team. 

- Keep up to date with industry best practices, changes in EHS regulations, and new technologies to ensure the continuous improvement of EHS systems.

 

Qualifications: 

- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering or related field. 

- Experience in the EHS field or a related role. 

- Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations and standards (e.g., DENR, DOLE, etc.). 

- Exposure or experience as a Pollution Control Officer (PCO) and/or Safety Officer is a plus. 

- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

- Certification in Occupational Safety, Environmental Compliance, or similar is a plus. 

 

Work Environment: 

This position may require occasional fieldwork involving engagements with government agencies, contractors, service providers, and industrial environments. It also includes attending meetings and seminars with environmental, health, and safety organizations. Some travel to different sites or locations may be necessary.
