Position Overview

The role is a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team supporting the JIT Seating Operations project in the Middle East for a new project and launch.

Working within the AME team, the role will focus specifically on the industrialization of two projects, ensuring delivery of the complete project to a successful conclusion. The position is primarily responsible for equipment definition and procurement, installation and commissioning activities, project management, and facility and layout development, through to plant setup, SOP, and successful launch.

 

Scope of the role:

Plant Equipment & Purchasing Support

  • AME Process Engineering & Management (Process development / MOST Analysis / Plant design)
  • AME Industrial facility Design / CAD / Manufacturing Engineering Design (CAD layouts / CAD plant process / Logistics development)
  • Define and maintain detailed equipment and facility lists
  • Develop and review equipment specifications in line with process and product requirements
  • Participate in equipment supplier selection meetings with Central Purchasing
  • Support the equipment purchasing process, including supplier selection and purchase order (PO) release
  • Lead and participate in equipment supplier progress meetings
  • Provide technical support and follow‑up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery
  • Conduct and support PFMEA / DFMEA activities for manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge on inbound / outbound Logistical system design including Packaging design, Kanban systems, Lead time and broadcast window analysis and design of delivery systems with the customer.

 

Project Management

  • Manage assigned project activities to ensure alignment with customer and internal milestones
  • Support PAR (Project Approval Request) activities and process book updates/revisions
  • Develop, update, and manage timing plans to ensure adherence to all project milestones
  • Prepare and participate in Internal Launch Readiness Reviews
  • Track risks, actions, and open issues through to resolution

 

Facilities Development Support

  • Support architectural and building layout development in cooperation with the Facilities Department
  • Provide input from an equipment, installation, and material flow perspective
  • Ensure facility layouts support efficient manufacturing processes, ergonomics, and future scalability

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Just‑In‑Time (JIT) manufacturing environments, preferably within the automotive industry
  • Proven experience in factory setup projects (greenfield investments), including equipment selection, installation, building layout support and facility‑related activities
  • Strong project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders
  • Very good knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
  • Hands‑on experience with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently within the role
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and MS Office tools
  • Knowledge in Ergonomic plant design
