Position: Logistics Manager

Location: Lear Corporation Seating JIT Plant, Pozzo d’Adda (Porto d’Adda), Italy
Reports to: Plant Manager

Overall Purpose

Manage all logistics, materials, inventory, shipping & receiving at Lear Corporation’s Seating JIT plant in Pozzo d’Adda, Italy. Ensure material flow and supply support production, meet customer delivery expectations, and control costs in a Just-In-Time (JIT) environment.



About the Plant:
• The Pozzo d’Adda site is part of Lear’s Seating division.  
• It operates under JIT principles, meaning tight coordination of material inputs, minimal buffer inventory, and strong alignment with suppliers and production schedules.
• The plant needs accurate forecasting, stable supply chain links, efficient receiving/warehousing, and shipping systems to match production demands.



Key Responsibilities
• Plan and control the flow of raw materials, components, and packaging to meet production schedules with minimal delays.
• Maintain target inventory levels (avoid overstock, eliminate obsolete items, minimize aging stock).
• Oversee shipping, receiving, warehouse, and distribution operations—ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with quality / automotive standards (e.g. ISO/TS).
• Establish KPIs for logistics/materials (on‐time delivery, inventory turn, cost per unit, shipping accuracy etc.), monitor and improve them.
• Recommend & manage optimal transportation modes, routes & frequencies.
• Lead, coach and develop the logistics/materials team; promote continuous improvement, lean / JIT / problem‐solving culture.
• Maintain and enforce governance, safety, environmental, HSE, and quality controls.
• Ensure documentation & process standards are in place and continuously improved; manage audits / supplier coordination as needed.
• Collaborate with neighboring plants or regional units to align logistics practices, cost sharing, supplier strategies.


Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics/materials management within a manufacturing / automotive / JIT environment.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, material flow, inventory management, transportation logistics.
• Experience managing shipping/receiving/warehousing functions.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g. ISO/TS 16949).
• Degree in Logistics, Engineering, Finance or related (MBA is a plus).
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Leadership skills, ability to work under pressure, adapt to change.
