Electrification BDU Systems Supervisor

Lear is looking for a Systems Supervisor experienced in the development of Battery Disconnect Units designs. Reporting to the Regional Systems Manager, your main role will be to derive and analyze the System Requirements and create the related system architectural design.

 

You will be involved in the development of electronic modules placed inside of the Battery pack of Electric Vehicles, from the concept definition until release for mass-production, being part of a skilled cross-functional and cross-regional team at the cutting edge of vehicle electrification technology.


You will

  • Gather, process, and track evolving stakeholder needs and requirements.
  • Lead in technical discussions with customers to clarify unclear product requirements, finding the best trade-off solutions at system level to satisfy customer expectations. 
  • Specify system requirements and structure/allocate them according to the business objectives and architectural design.
  • Build the System architectural design and define its interfaces for the different set of products inside of a Battery Disconnect Unit, working together with a multidisciplinary team of engineers (SYS, HW, SW, MECH, …)
  • Allocate the System requirements to the System Architecture elements
  • Verify the System Architectural design and support the definition of the System Integration and Testing strategy
  • Be involved in the creation of the Technical Safety Concept and System Architecture Analysis
  • Lead in Problem Management Process to ensure product defects are analyzed, root cause found, and that adequate proposed corrective actions are defined cross functionally.
  • Be synchronized with RFQ team to support technical proposals for new BDUs business opportunities
  • Support the identification/development of new technologies in BDUs products to ensure Lear remain at the forefront of innovation and competitiveness.

To be a success in this role you must have

  • Bachelor (preferably master) degree in Mechanical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • +5 years of experience in design for Electric vehicle high-voltage products or similar
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Knowledge on electromechanical systems
  • Knowledge of automotive applicable standards & processes (i.e. ISO 16750, ISO 26262, ASPICE)
  • Knowledge of industry related tools (i.e. JIRA, DOORS, Subversion, EA)
  • Know-how of Electric vehicle architectures (400V/800V)
  • Familiar with Agile methodology
