Position overview:
This position reports to the Tax Director - Europe & Africa and is responsible for management, supervision and coordination of all Moroccan income tax matters (both local and U.S. aspects). The position also has an opportunity to take direct tax responsibility for more countries in North Africa as the region grows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Reporting & Tax Compliance: Ensure Lear is in full compliance, with the highest level of integrity, with respect to all local statutory income tax and U.S. tax reporting and compliance.
- Tax Audits: Lead and coordinate tax audits and other tax proceedings, together with external advisors, including meeting with tax authorities and responding to questions with support from the local finance team and European and U.S. tax leadership.
- Tax Structure: Manage complex tax matters for comprehensive legal structure in Morocco (3 legal entities with several manufacturing plants); coordinate necessary actions with various other functions (e.g. finance, treasury, indirect tax, operations); manage Morocco transfer pricing documentation and compliance with respect to tax structure.
Key skills and Qualifications:
- extensive knowledge and practical understanding of international and domestic corporate tax matters/tax accounting;
- analytical skills and ability to apply pragmatic approach to seek solutions;
- self-motivated and willing to accept new challenges and work independently to enhance existing and implement new processes;
- enthusiasm, ambition, creativity in finding solutions, good communication skills;
- 10 years of professional experience preferably in a large tax advisory or law firm (or experience in similar position in another large multinational company);
- fluency in English (both written and spoken).
