Maintenance Supervisor

Roscommon, MI

 

Manages all aspects of building maintenance, including demolition and construction activities.  Assures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations concerning environmental issues for the plant.  Supervise, schedule, instruct and assist personnel in maintaining machines and equipment to operate efficiently and with minimum downtime.

 

The Role

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assure compliance with NPDES permits, air permits, and ground water remediation permits
  • Keep current and coordinate compliance with MIOSHA, EPA, MDEQ and other government agencies’ regulations
  • Supervise and maintain the cooling tower, chillers and related systems for the welding department and their records
  • Maintain building structures and grounds to ensure efficient operation, safe working conditions, plant security, and a healthy environment for employees
  • Interface with outside contractors as necessary to maintain buildings & grounds
  • Ensure that all work performed meets safety standards
  • Supervise the work of Maintenance personnel, maintain discipline and assist Maintenance personnel with technical problems
  • Accountable for the efficient operating condition of all machines and equipment within the plant
  • Coordinate and establish maintenance work priorities, including preventive maintenance, and procure resources for same
  • Coordinate the ordering of spare parts and processing supplies for production equipment
  • Communicate with Engineering to ensure timely equipment installation and various manufacturing support during the development of new processes and on any ongoing maintenance basis
  • Assist the Plant Manager with special projects as assigned
  • Carries out assigned functions described in Policies, Procedures and Quality Manuals
  • Responsible for all documents, manuals and prints related to maintenance
  • Make recommendations, plans, and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization
  • Support Team Facilitators as they relate to facility maintenance, relocating and improvement concerns
  • Follow systems for IATF16949 and ISO14001

 

Your Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent to with additional training in maintenance or related courses.
  • Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in the Plant Engineering and maintenance field. (2) two years, of which, should be in supervision related to stamping and support equipment. Must be well versed in electrical, mechanical and hydraulic aspects of stamping machines.  
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer experience, with Window applications, Microsoft Office programs and accounting computer systems, a plus. 
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment.
