Job Description

The key role of the Coordinator will be to serve as the guardian of Tier 2 supplier maturity and capacity risk, proactively preventing issues during ramp-up, potential line stoppages, sequencing failures, and capacity gaps that could impact plant operations. The Coordinator will be responsible for the MP&L function across the supplier base, ensuring compliance with all BMW NCAR milestones (RG4, RG5, and RG6) as well as all LOPA test cases applicable to the SLP plant.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Risk Assessment and Due Diligence — Conduct structured risk assessments for each Tier 2 supplier, evaluating installed capacity versus demand, financial health, sub-supplier dependency, logistics performance history, labor and energy contingencies, and disruption recovery capabilities.
  • NCAR Supplier Monitoring — Maintain a structured weekly follow-up process with NCAR suppliers in accordance with BMW guidelines and criteria. Each supplier is assessed using a defined risk-rating scale, with actionable findings and mitigation plans identified.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling — Process daily customer requirements and schedule production accordingly, always considering proven production line capacity and inventory levels in alignment with the pre-series production plan.
  • Operational Readiness Audits — Conduct operational maturity audits before and during ramp-up, including planning systems, EDI capabilities, packaging readiness, capacity to sustain target volumes, contingency plans, and operational redundancy.
  • Supplier Sign-Off Management — Generate and obtain formal sign-offs prior to authorizing suppliers for JIT cadence, ensuring alignment with BMW NCAR program milestones RG4, RG5, and RG6.
  • Ramp-Up Leadership and Support — Provide operational leadership and oversight throughout the ramp-up phase, directing program stabilization activities, governing the launch curve, and ensuring JIT compliance from the first delivery onward.
  • PFEP (Plan For Every Part) — Develop and maintain PFEP documentation for all Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Quality and Safety Compliance — Participate in Quality and Safety Management Systems in accordance with the scope and responsibilities of the position.
  • Pre-Series Delivery Monitoring — Monitor and coordinate the timely delivery of complete seats and subassemblies for pre-series builds to the customer.
  • Issue Resolution and Escalation Management — Lead supply disruption management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and containment activities during the program stabilization phase.
  • Material Planning Parameters — Define, validate, and implement material planning parameters, including safety stock levels, lot sizes, EOQ (Economic Order Quantity), and supplier delivery frequencies for the NCAR program, in collaboration with the SLP planning team and through system implementation.
