PRODUCT ENGINEER – SEATING SYSTEMS
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA - JIT PLANT

 

As a member of the JIT Seat Complete Engineering team, the Product Engineer will be responsible for:  

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Key technical interface between Lear JIT manufacturing plant, Lear US-Southfield, MI engineering, Lear Korea engineering, and Hyundai-Montgomery (HMMA) product development team.
  • Applies root cause analysis strategies to systematically solve product related issues.
  • Supports completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. 
  • Utilizes knowledge of engineering theory, material science, manufacturing processes, to design products to meet manufacturing plant capabilities and customer specifications. 
  • Reports through the US engineering team based in Southfield, MI, with the position onsite at the Lear JIT manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Alabama.

 

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent discipline).
  • Bilingual proficiency in both English and Korean; both verbal and written.
  • An ability to collaborate well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan.
  • Practical application of root cause methodology, including DFSS and Shanin techniques.
  • Knowledge of FMVSS and ECE specifications.
  • Experience with validation of seating systems.

 

Bonus If You Have:

  • Success launching seating components or assemblies.
  • Experience working for or with Hyundai on program product development .
  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent discipline).
