REGIONAL SUPPLIER QUALITY MANAGER

SOUTHFIELD, MI

 

As a member of the electronics quality team, the Regional Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for leading supplier quality activities with our suppliers and to improve supplier performance in conjunction with Lear Plant Quality. Also, protect Lear Plants from Supplier defects, drive supplier prompt resolution/response on quality issues and its prompt resolution, and facilitate Supplier APQP activities for NA OEM Business to assure flawless customer launches.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • To achieve the supplier PPM, prompt containment and root cause/corrective action implementation.
  • Achieve on time full PPAP in line with internal and customer / OEM launches timing and expectations.
  • Meet Customer requirements / scorecards including, but not limited to: quality & delivery targets maintaining / achieving full customer approval status
  • Ensure read across and act as the escalation path for the plant in case of Quality issues
  • Drive supplier quality activities with Supplier. Use of roadmaps to improve supplier performance.
  • Drive Quality Notice (QN) activities with suppliers through plant and regional resources.
  • Review Root Cause with supplier for open QN’s. Ensure proper tools are used for root cause.
  • Review Corrective Actions until validated, maintain certified material until then
  • Assign Controlled Shipping containment levels for repeat occurrences.
  • Consolidate quality costs incurred by plant for recovery from supplier. Analyze plant information, issue chargeback, submit to Finance and Commercial
  • Request and conduct meeting with suppliers, plants and other affected parties (customers) for prompt problem resolution and Plant protection
  • Elevate QN’s or support requests (containment) to Purchasing due to poor supplier response, Lear-wide issues, and customer
  • Run metric and performance reports for top supplier’s contribution/drive roadmap actions to improve
  • Coordinate GAMS assignments with the regional quality teams
  • Coordinate ongoing SCR development with gatekeepers and administration team in SEM and Profile
  • Complete SCR feasibility as assigned in SEM and Profile
  • Develop and approve strategic supplier additions within GAMS and SRM in support of Purchasing needs for supplier additions (non-standard adds)
  • Responsible for “Auto Approve” of SCR’s as agreed with functional stakeholders in Purchasing, Program Management, Engineering, and Operations


Your Qualifications:

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in quality and supplier quality roles.
  • Expertise in supplier change management process for supplier components
  • Fully skilled in customer and supplier PPAP process.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English
  • Electronics components experience; molding and stamping a huge plus

  • Spanish language
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
