Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of our Tangier manufacturing site, which is entering a significant expansion phase. This role is critical in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making in a fast-paced automotive supplier environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial finance, hands-on experience in plant scale-up or greenfield projects, and a proactive mindset to support Lear’s ambitious growth plans in Morocco and across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Control
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly closings in line with Group standards and US GAAP.
• Ensure a strong internal control environment and full SOX compliance.
• Analyze plant costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with operational teams.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, investment planning (PAR), and ROI tracking.
• Conduct field audits (BOM, fixed assets) and support physical inventories (W2W).
• Drive financial reporting processes including monthly closings, budgets, forecasts, R&O, and ad-hoc analyses.
Plant Expansion & Strategic Projects
• Act as a key financial partner during plant expansion and transformation initiatives (greenfield or brownfield).
• Support CAPEX planning, scenario modeling, and financial risk assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment during infrastructure, capacity, and workforce growth.
Automotive Industry Focus
• Provide financial support for program launches, engineering changes, and customer RFQs.
• Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF) and customer cost-transparency requirements.
• Monitor program profitability throughout the product lifecycle.
Team & Process Management
• Lead and develop the Assistant Financial Controller, defining clear objectives and KPIs.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial and system transactions (purchasing, accounting, etc.).
• Promote financial awareness across departments and support lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the primary financial contact for internal and external audits (LAS, CACs).
Key Skills and Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial management control, ideally within the automotive supplier industry.
• Proven track record in plant scale-up, greenfield, or major transformation projects.
Technical Skills
• Strong command of Excel and MS Office.
• Solid knowledge of accounting, tax, and cost accounting principles.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, QAD, Oracle).
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of US GAAP principles.
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.  
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational ability and proactive, hands-on mindset.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); French and Arabic are an advantage.
