Position Overview
The Methods Engineer is responsible for defining and improving manufacturing methods, selecting appropriate equipment, and performing capacity studies for wire harness assembly operations.
This role leads process optimization initiatives, supports production line improvements, implements engineering changes, and drives continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, efficiency, and overall plant performance.
The Methods Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure successful project launches, stable production processes, and continuous optimization across operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Define manufacturing methods and required equipment for wire harness assembly operations.
• Perform efficiency improvement studies and optimize production line layouts.
• Conduct capacity studies for production units and new programs.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers during new project launches.
• Prepare, control, and update capacity sheets and process flow diagrams.
• Analyze and implement engineering model year changes on assembly lines.
• Ensure CAPEX spending aligns with forecast and budget.
• Participate in continuous improvement workshops and plant performance initiatives.
• Contribute to quality improvement through participation in problem-solving activities.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (Bac+5) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
• Strong leadership mindset and teamwork spirit.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Experience in continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
Language Skills
• English – fluent
• French – fluent
