Job Description

  • Manage shipments for Lear facilities in Europe based on plant needs.
  • Ensure all shipments adhere to company procedures, regulations, and Lear standards.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Lear’s network, including routes, warehouses, facilities, and customs brokers.
  • Serve as the main contact for carriers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Address and resolve shipment issues or delays, implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records, including tracking, invoices, and compliance documentation.
  • Analyze and report on shipment performance metrics.
  • Audit freight invoices.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance control tower operations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and select the best service providers and transportation modes based on cost, efficiency, reliability, and service quality based on Lear guidelines.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to ensure optimal service levels and cost-effectiveness
  • Track and monitor shipments in real-time across different transportation modes (road, rail, air, sea).
  • Use advanced tracking systems and software to ensure visibility and control over shipment status.
  • Identify potential issues or delays in the shipment process and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Maintain constant communication with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to provide updates and resolve any logistical challenges.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all shipment-related inquiries and issues.
  • Analyze shipment data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply chain, Business, or related field.

Experience Requirements

+1 year of experience as Traffic or Logistics clerk or assistant.
